Interrail and Grimaldi Lines build upon their partnership

InterRailers can benefit from up to 40% discount on European ferry crossings.

UTRECHT, THE NETHERLANDS – The partnership between Grimaldi Lines and InterRail has developed, now offering InterRailers even better discounts on ferry crossings between Spain, Greece, Sicily and Sardinia.

From the 1st September 2014 InterRail’s benefit partner Grimaldi Lines offers a 20% discount on ferry crossings and 10% discount on accommodation supplements such as Pullman seats, berths and cabins to InterRail travellers who purchased their pass on or after this date. These discounts apply to standard and advanced booking offers and are also applicable in the off-season, providing even more value for money by saving 40% when booking passages between 15th September and 21st December 2014. InterRail Pass travellers can make reservations and redeem these special discounts via Grimaldiˈs Contact Centres and at its sales points in Italy and Spain.

Grimaldi Lines, owned by the Grimaldi Group, is one of Europe’s leading shipping companies, offering a number of ferry services to the most popular tourism destinations in the Mediterranean region. The onboard facilities and services are similar to those of cruise ships, including “à la carte” restaurants, bars, casinos, shopping centers, swimming pools and wellness centers as well as entertainment. Comfortable cabins guarantee a good night’s sleep so that passengers can arrive well-rested and ready to explore their next destination.

InterRail travellers can find detailed information about the Grimaldi Lines discounts and other pass benefits on the Rail Planner App. Furthermore, this free and offline app provides travellers with a European railway timetable and useful facts about the participating countries.

Established in 2001, the Eurail Group G.I.E. is responsible for the marketing and management of the InterRail and Eurail Passes that provide unlimited rail travel across Europe. The organization is based in Utrecht (Netherlands) and is wholly owned by thirty railways and shipping companies. In addition, the Group has many benefit partners, including hotels, transport companies and museums, which offer their services either at a reduced rate or free of charge to rail pass holders.
