James Stevenson succeeds Steve Hartwell President & CEO of GlobalStar.

LONDON – James Stevenson is announced as the new CEO of GlobalStar Travel Management from 1st April 2021. James succeeds Steve Hartwell President & CEO of GlobalStar who is retiring after 12 years at the helm.

Steve has led the business for over 12 years, building a respected industry brand. His steady and experienced leadership has positioned GlobalStar to be the leading independent global business travel and meetings alliance network, represented across 85 countries and a pre pandemic aggregated travel spend in excess of US $14 Billion. Steve leaves GlobalStar in strong shape – our proposition is relevant and compelling, validated by new Partner recruitment levels & our strongest sales pipeline and conversion for the past two years.

Thanks to Steve’s focus, the GlobalStar business today is a highly recognised network alliance, enabling corporations and organisations across the world to effectively consolidate their international business travel and meetings management under a single contract that leverages great technology, supplier buying programmes and which is supported by the centralised GlobalStar resources who are leaders in their field.

GlobalStar’s Chairman Trevor Elswood said of James Stevenson’s appointment. “For the GlobalStar Board, James was a natural choice for the CEO role with a proven track record in delivering results across challenging markets and leading and managing high calibre management teams across the globe with GBT and HRG. With many years’ experience in Asia, one of the most challenging business environments in the world and senior executive level roles James recognises and appreciates the need to operate effectively across different cultures and countries. He is a strong business growth minded individual with an outstanding track record in winning high value new business and developing and retaining existing clients. I am looking forward to working with James over the coming months to ensure GlobalStar unlocks the true growth opportunity for GlobalStar Partners as markets and business travel recovers post the pandemic period.”

James Stevenson commenting on his GlobalStar CEO appointment “I am extremely excited to be taking the helm of GlobalStar at this unprecedented and challenging time. When the world starts to travel again, corporate customers will face a new set of challenges for their travelling employees.

They will be looking to partner with a global travel management organisation that can meet those new needs. GlobalStar is well placed to do this. It is global in reach and strongly positioned in each of the markets it operates in. Above all it is agile, and customer focused and so able to tailor its solutions to meet customer’s needs. In the new travel world, one size does not fit all and GlobalStar recognises and thrives on this.”

Trevor Elswood Chairman of GlobalStar “Steve has been an incredible and experienced leader of GlobalStar and I along with the Board thank him enormously for the successful business he has shaped here – that offers companies a very differentiated and relevant solution to international travel contract consolidation without compromise. I look forward to working with James to build on those successes and ensure we seize the opportunity the next few post pandemic years will offer the likes of GlobalStar.”
