Italy is one of the loss-making European tour operating activities that Kuoni announced it would be withdrawing from on 21 September 2012.
On 7 March 2013 Kuoni Group completed its announced withdrawal from tour operator activities in Italy. On this date Italian company The RS Holding S.r.l. (a company of Alessandro Rosso) took over the tour operating business run under the Kuoni and Best Tours brands. All employees are being taken on by the new owners.
Italy is one of the loss-making European tour operating activities that Kuoni announced it would be withdrawing from on 21 September 2012. The cost of exiting five tour operating markets and the B2C online hotel platform Octopustravel remains at around CHF 80 million as communicated in 2012.
The activities of Global Travel Services Division in Italy with its brands Kuoni Group Travel Experts, GTA, KDM and Travelcube do not form part of the sale and remain in the Kuoni Group.
