MarryAbroad partners with Sud De France Developement

Wedding site and tourist board promote Chateaux in Languedoc-Roussillon region to UK.

Destination wedding info-site MarryAbroad.co.uk has partnered with Sud de France Developement, the international development organisation for the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, to promote a selection of private-hire chateaux in the Languedoc-Roussillon, in the South of France, to engaged British couples.

MarryAbroad will promote 15 chateaux in total – focusing on five different properties every four months, for a year.

The initiative is part of an awareness drive from Sud de France, to generate more wedding enquiries, bookings and revenue, for the privately owned venues in the region. It also results in a 30% increase in MarryAbroad’s French offering, to UK couples.

Co-founder of MarryAbroad.co.uk, Steph Bishop states: “We’re looking forward to showcasing the beautiful range of picturesque venues this region has to offer, to UK brides and grooms. This area is a hidden gem that is not too well known in the UK, so we are delighted to be introducing it for the first time, to many couples who have decided to marry abroad.”

Languedoc-Roussillon boasts many chateaux, ranging from the small and intimate, to the grandiose. As an important wine-making region, for several centuries, many chateaux still have commercial vineyards and produce their own wine for sale. However, the region has yet to be discovered as a wedding destination by British couples, who traditionally have chosen the more famous areas of Paris or Provence in which to get married.

Chateau l’Hospitalet is an impressive wedding venue, boasting an almost endless backdrop of vines to the Mediterranean. Marketing Assistant Marine Andres states she is “really pleased about the partnership of Marryabroad and Sud de France, who are helping to develop weddings in Languedoc Roussillon, a beautiful and exceptional French region.”

Jessica Poole, UK Press and Promotions Manager for tourism at Sud de France, is also thrilled to bring more weddings to the region, and confirms that “Sud de France is committed to promoting products and industries from Languedoc-Roussillon, an idyllic location for couples looking celebrate their big day.”
