Meet in Reykjavik launches #InspiredByFire volcano incentives campaign

In light of Iceland's ongoing volcanic eruption, Meet in Reykjavik (CVB) is pleased to launch #InspiredByFire, a social media campaign designed to showcase Iceland's exciting array of Volcano Geotourism incentive activities including the chance for a Meeting Planner to win a three night incentive trip to Reykjavik with an epic Volcano Flightseeing tour while the eruption lasts.

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND –  Iceland’s new eruption site at Vatnajokull National Park, which suddenly cracked open on August 29th, continues to spew lava to the delight of flightseeing visitors who flock to the country to experience untamed volcanic fury from the safety of aerial views.

To showcase Iceland’s exciting array of Volcano Geotourism excursions, Meet in Reykjavik (CVB) announces the launch of this month’s #InspiredByFire campaign targeted at Meeting and Incentive Planners. The campaign runs until the end of October and educates Meeting Planners via Twitter using the hashtag #InspiredByFire on volcano-inspired-add-ons, action-packed incentive programs, and spectacular images for photo sharing. Included in the campaign is the chance for a Meeting Planner to win a three-day incentive trip to Reykjavik including an epic Volcano Flightseeing tour while the eruption continues.

“With over 100 located throughout the island, we don’t shy away from volcanoes in Iceland, we embrace our fiery friends,” says Brynja Laxdal, Director of Marketing at Meet in Reykjavik. “With #InspiredByFire we’re reaching out to Meeting Planners who are looking for over-the-top, memorable adventures that are life-affirming and provide a sense of discovery. Flying over a curtain of molten lava is probably something your clients will never forget.”

Laxdal continues, “Within 30 minutes’ drive from Reykjavik, meeting attendees can explore the inside of a dormant volcano, or toast champagne at the company meeting in a lava tube cave. These unforgettable Volcano Geotourism experiences exclusive to Iceland are a rewarding add-on to any meeting or incentive program, even when there isn’t an eruption going on.”

The #InspiredByFire giveaway includes a three night stay in Reykjavik with a fully packed itinerary of Iceland’s best Incentive offerings and an epic flightseeing tour over the volcano while the eruption lasts. The campaign runs until October 31, 2014 and is open to qualified Meeting Planners who subscribe to the Meet in Reykjavik e-newsletter by registering here.
