M&I Forums becomes a CMP Preferred Provider

London-based industry leader now eligible to offer CE credits to meeting professionals.

Meeting & Incentive Forums, a global leader in pre-scheduled 1-2-1 appointment trade shows for the meetings and incentives industry, has become a CMP Preferred Provider. This certifies that M&I Forums meet the requirements for attendees to receive nine hours of Continuing Education (CE) credits for the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential.

The Certified Meeting Professional designation is a mark of experience and trust within the meetings and incentives industry. It requires extensive study, and certified professionals must be recertified every five years. In order to be recertified, meeting professionals must earn 25 hours of CE credit in this time. Richard Barnes, Managing Director of M&I Forums, said: “Education programs are essential to maintain the very highest standards in the meetings industry. As our Forums grow, it’s vital for us to be a part of this program, not only for the benefit of our delegates, but for the industry as a whole.” M&I Forums will also be listed on the CIC Preferred Provider Program Directory.

M&I Forum The Americas 2015 will take place at The Vinoy Renaissance in St. Petersburg, Florida from August 30th through September 3rd. It will bring together 220 buyers and 100 vendors from the meetings and incentives industry for four days of pre-scheduled 1-2-1 meetings and fun networking activities. Buyers are fully hosted, and eligible to attend one of two two-day options (Aug. 30th – Sep. 1st [option 1] or Sep. 1st – Sep. 3rd [option 2]).

Delegates at the Forum will be eligible to earn 9 hours of CE credits, through 25 meetings, each 18 minutes long. Over each 2 day option, the Forum will host 5,000 1-2-1 delegate meetings, or 90,000 minutes of meetings. Karen Kotowski, CEO of CIC, said: “CIC is excited to have launched the CMP Preferred Provider Program as a way to offer an added benefit to CMPs and future candidates in finding and tracking continuing education credits. It also allows us to identify and support organizations like M&I Forums that offer CMP-applicable education.”
