MIAMI – Beginning in March, Canadian North Airlines will fly weekly charter flights to Miami International Airport, ferrying sun-seeking cruise passengers between Hamilton, Ontario and the Cruise Capital of the World, PortMiami. The Canadian carrier has been contracted by Miami-based Royal Caribbean International to provide the air service, which will utilize Boeing 737-300 aircraft that seat 136 passengers.

The weekly charter flights commence on Saturday, March 1 and will run through Saturday, April 5. In total, more than 70 percent of PortMiami’s four million annual cruise passengers travel through MIA.

“MIA is proud to welcome Canadian North Airlines’ new weekly charter service,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. Gonzalez. “Tourism – and the cruise industry in particular – are a big part of our local economy, and we’re proud to do our part to support that positive, job-creating activity.”
