An impressive range of products and services relating to the hospitality industry will be showcased by 199 exhibitors from 24 countries at The Hotel Show 2003 starting at the Dubai Airport Expo from today.
The show will run until Wednesday and entrance is free for the trade visitors. Joanne Evans, Director of Streamline Marketing which is organising the show, said: The hotel business in the Middle East has gone through a great deal of uncertainty in the past few months, but the climate has changed dramatically in the recent weeks. Most of the major hotel operators in the region are shrugging off the effects of the Iraq war and looking positively to the future. They are planning a new generation of hotels and resorts to prepare for the growing numbers of tourists and business travellers the region expects to attract in the years ahead.
The Hotel Show is taking place alongside The Office Exhibition which has attracted 80 exhibitors from 25 countries with a total exhibition space in excess of 1,500 square metres, according to a report in Khaleej Times.
Bernard Walsh, Managing Director of dmg World Media, owners of the two exhibitions, and Awadh Al Seghayer, Manager for Events, Sites and Heritage at the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) said the show`s international exhibitor line-up includes manufacturers in air conditioning, audio-visual, video conferencing and sound systems, bathroom supplies and bed linen, building materials, cutlery and crockery, carpeting and curtains.
