Millennials in Travel launches Miami Chapter

Millennials in Travel has paved the way for young professionals in the travel industry to network through monthly events, social media forums and volunteering opportunities while providing assistance with job placement opportunities within the industry.

LOS ANGELES, CA – Millennials in Travel will be launching its second chapter in Miami on June 20, 2013, at W South Beach Hotel & Residences. As a national career development and networking organization, Millennials in Travel has paved the way for young professionals in the travel industry to network through monthly events, social media forums and volunteering opportunities while providing assistance with job placement opportunities within the industry.

“Since our first city launch in Los Angeles in February, the industry response has been overwhelming with interest from across the globe,” said Joshua Smith, Director of Strategic Development. “Miami is a strong city for both domestic and international tourism, so it is a natural destination for the organization’s growth.”

Leading the Miami chapter as Officer of Development is Gary Oakley, Vice President of Travel Services at House of Travel. “Gary’s industry leadership has quickly secured Miami as the second chapter for our growing organization,” commented Caitlin Murphy, Director of Communications.

The event will be held in the Grove at W South Beach, beginning at 7 p.m., and will provide an exclusive opportunity for young professionals in the travel industry to network with their peers of similar age. Oakley shared, “I cannot think of a better venue than W South Beach for this launch. The W brand is synonymous with our generation and remains a trending hotel group around the world.” W South Beach will be providing cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as the hosting sponsor of the Millennials in Travel Miami chapter.

Millennials in Travel will be raffling a prize of two complimentary round-trip economy tickets sponsored by LATAM Airlines. Christian Fleiderman, Sales Director of South & Caribbean Region for LATAM said, “LATAM Airlines Group is excited to sponsor Millennials in Travel who are quickly becoming the leaders of the industry. We are especially thrilled with the launch of a Miami chapter in the city that serves as our primary hub to connect travelers to unique experiences that are waiting to be discovered only in South America.”

Millennials in Travel members must be of the millennial generation and currently working for or pursuing a career with a travel agency, tour operator, cruise line, hotel, tourism board, consortium, airline, travel publication, travel marketing or travel representation company. Additionally, members must be passionate and committed to the travel industry, act professionally in both social and work environments, have a strong belief in the potential of the travel industry and be willing to help drive tourism on a global level.
