MMGY Global acquires leading travel syndicated research & insights firm

DKSA’s expert team will continue to operate in McLean, Virginia as a unique business unit within the MMGY Global organization and will give MMGY an expanded geographic presence in the nation’s capitol.

MMGY Global, the leading integrated travel and hospitality marketing firm in the U.S. announces that it has acquired D.K. Shifflet & Associates (DKSA), a leading provider of syndicated research and insights for the travel and tourism industry. The combination of these two long-recognized leaders in travel and tourism creates an industry powerhouse that will offer clients deep insights, innovative new products and services to guide strategic marketing and planning efforts.

DKSA is the first acquisition by MMGY since Peninsula Capital Partners, a private equity firm with experience in the global travel industry, made a significant equity investment in the firm earlier this year. The investment supports MMGY’s aggressive acquisition strategy and the firm’s commitment to integration across marketing channels and throughout the entire marketing process, beginning with research and the insights it generates.

DKSA’s expert team will continue to operate in McLean, Virginia as a unique business unit within the MMGY Global organization and will give MMGY an expanded geographic presence in the nation’s capitol. Together, the enhanced research capability boasts the industry’s most expansive and richest historical data focused on consumer trends, travel intentions, spend levels and patterns, visitor profiles and volumes, geography and brand attitudes, customer segmentation, planning processes and resources and forecasting.
