The Danish Consumer Council’s THINK magazine has named travel site momondo a winner this month, after extensive testing of 13 well-known travel search engines.
THINK magazine compared fares, availability of flights, filtering options and overall search on a total of 13 Danish travel sites – including several sites also well-known to UK consumers.
Last September THINK searched for flights on different dates from Copenhagen Airport. Prices and departures were then rated, according to whether the search engines found what was searched for, and if the rates shown were accurate and up to date, in relation to the final price. Search options were assessed on whether the main search and filtering options were present on the site, and whether they worked.
“The Danish Consumer Council’s THINK magazine carried out a very comprehensive test that took into account several parameters – such as price, supply and ease of use, on individual travel search engines. Of course we can only be delighted that THINK subsequently recommends momondo as the best, as we perceive it as recognition of our credibility – something which has always been crucial to how we work with our consumer service,” says Martin Lumbye, Board of Directors at momondo.
Last September momondo launched a flight rating system, which gives consumers a very quick overview of flights results using a smiley system – based on cost and duration.
