Montego Bay, Jamaica is Swoop’s newest destination

New service to Montego Bay from Hamilton begins December 16, 2018.

CALGARY – Swoop announced Montego Bay, Jamaica as its first Caribbean sun-destination. Twice weekly service from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (YHM) to Sangster International Airport (MBJ) begins December 16, 2018 through to April 24, 2019.

"The addition of Montego Bay to our network is another important milestone," said Steven Greenway, President of Swoop. "Many Canadians of Jamaican origin live in the Toronto area, which makes this new route ideal for connecting friends, family and loved ones, as does the vacation appeal of replacing ten feet of snow with ten miles of white sand beaches this winter."

"We are very excited to see Swoop continue to grow and expand its route offerings," said Cathie Puckering, President & CEO, John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport. "Swoop began operation in June with domestic service, before adding U.S. destinations beginning this fall and further adding Caribbean service which will begin in December. We are proud to partner with Swoop and look forward to bringing our customers more services and destination offerings."

"MBJ welcomes Swoop from Hamilton, Canada," said Rafael Echevarne, CEO of MBJ Airports Limited. "We congratulate Swoop in the commencement of this service to Montego Bay which will provide passengers in Hamilton and the surrounding area a great additional option to visit Montego Bay and Jamaica. We look forward to this service and the additional passengers from this service. Welcome to Montego Bay and Jamaica."

Swoop is the first Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier to provide sun-service from Canada to the U.S. and Caribbean, with the addition of Montego Bay complementing the five U.S destinations that were announced with the winter schedule release on August 2, 2018.
