MTT launches new intelligent push engine for travel companies

MTT’s recent poll at the IATA World Passenger Symposium in Dublin indicated that airlines could immediately increase ancillary revenue on mobile by at least 30% by leveraging an intelligent push engine.

DUBLIN, IRELAND – Mobile Travel Technologies Ltd. (MTT), the pioneering mobile solutions provider for the travel industry, has launched its intelligent push engine, MTT Engage, to accelerate mobile revenues and customer engagement for travel companies.

Currently, travel companies are not capitalising on the multitude of ancillary revenue streams available through interacting with customers via mobile. MTT Engage enables them to do so. In a mobile environment, increasing ancillary revenues is all about timing, context and relevancy, not just the initial booking phase. Promoting relevant ancillaries to customers at the right time at different stages in the travel lifecycle (e.g. add an extra bag the day before travel, book a seat upgrade at the last minute) are more likely to result in purchases and this is what MTT Engage facilitates. This figure is modest when you consider the ability to personalize and customize ancillary offerings.

MTT Engage enables airlines, hotels and travel intermediaries to send targeted app (and SMS) notifications to customers to promote relevant ancillaries, to connect with customers at the right time in their journey with real-time travel updates and to engage them with personalized messages and offers. MTT Engage is part of an extensive MTT product roadmap to further enhance travel services and the overall travel experience by applying mobile’s unique benefits of intimacy, immediacy and context.        

MTT Engage is a permission-based mobile messaging channel which delivers targeted content and offers based on customers’ past in-app behaviours, learned preferences and location. Travel companies can deliver greater relevance by understanding customers’ interests through explicitly stated preferences or implicit behavioural cues. Push notifications can be sent to the full mobile app audience or to a segment of it as required.
