New interactive festival guide recommends the top European festivals for you

The guide allows users to select from a range of filters including category, cost of a ticket, location, month the festival takes place and whether the festival is family friendly.

Alpha Travel Insurance has created an interactive resource guide to help you explore the many festivals that take place around the world. Filtered by category, cost of tickets, month, suitability and location, you can choose the festival most suited to you.

  • The UK hosts 43 of the festivals included making it the leading country for festivals in Europe
  • Germany comes in second in hosting the most festivals with a total of 33
  • England is the home of foodie festivals hosting the majority of food-themed festivals
  • Germany tops the list for Art and Culture festivals with 20 festivals located there appearing in the guide

Festivals come in many forms and whether you’re a music fan, a bookworm, a foodie or a thespian, there’s something for everyone. To help people find the festivals for them, Alpha Travel Insurance has created an interactive guide to allow users to find the right festivals for them.

The guide allows users to select from a range of filters including category, cost of a ticket, location, month the festival takes place and whether the festival is family friendly. The user is then shown a list of results which match their set criteria allowing them to choose the festival which best matches their needs. Whether it’s partying in a field listening to their favourite band, sampling delicacies of the world at a food festival or watching the latest indie film at a film festival there is something for everyone in Europe.

The UK features on the Alpha Travel Insurance Festival Guide a total of 43 times with food, music, literature, film and drama festivals all taking place in the country. Arguably, the most famous festival to take place is Glastonbury festival – a five-day festival that is renowned for the music acts that headline the Pyramid stage.

Rachel Conaghan, Travel Expert: “Festivals vary in theme but also time and cost so working out the most suitable for your needs can be tricky. Whether you’re adding a festival to your holiday itinerary or looking for one more locally, forward planning is essential. From five-day music festivals to afternoon food festivals, there’s nothing better than getting lost in a new cultural experience.
