Sabine Dorn Aglagul

Sabine Dorn-Aglagul and Mario Habig take on new top positions at the tour operator group. Sabine Dorn-Aglagul as hotel industry expert is now in charge of the company’s own resorts. Mario Habig is responsible for the Destination Management Division.

MUNICH – The FTI GROUP is repositioning itself for its hotel segment and incoming agencies. Karim Hassan, CEO of Meeting Point International and member of the FTI Group Management, has left the group to pursue new professional challenges. Within the framework of a new organizational structure, his area of responsibility will in future be taken care of by Sabine Dorn-Aglagul and Mario Habig.

Hospitality expert Sabine Dorn-Aglagul will be responsible for five brands as CEO Hotels
The hotel segment of the FTI GROUP will be managed by CEO Hotels Sabine Dorn-Aglagul. The group's portfolio currently includes around 60 hotels with around 13,000 rooms in eight countries. The variety of brands includes LABRANDA Hotels & Resorts, KAIRABA Hotels & Resorts, Design Plus, Lemon & Soul and Club Sei.

Sabine Dorn-Aglagul was most recently Senior Vice President Operations Northern Europe at Accorhotels Group, having taken over as President Europe at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in September 2018. She also held previous positions at Hilton Worldwide and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. "Sabine Dorn-Aglagul has a lot of experience in international hotel management," FTI Group CEO Ralph Schiller notes. "With her, we are setting the course for the evolution of our hotels." The hospitality expert says: "The strategic alignment of brands, positioning of hotels and, of course, growth of the hotel portfolio in international markets is my passion and has occupied me my entire career. I am very happy that I can now take a new path in holistic tourism with the FTI GROUP, in which the hotels represent only one, but an essential part of an entire value chain. I will now fully concentrate on what I see as the special potential of the hotel division at the FTI GROUP."

Mario Habig takes over the incoming agencies of the group as CEO DMCs
Mario Habig is now responsible for Destination Management and will be in charge for the group's own agencies with around 40 representatives in 18 countries within the FTI GROUP. The new CEO DMCs is to tie the orientation of the incoming agencies more closely to the tour operator business of the FTI GROUP. At the same time, the expansion of the business with third-party customers is on his agenda.

Habig looks back on 20 years of experience in tourism and has extensive expertise in destination management. At the TUI Group, he was responsible for the operational management of the agency in India as well as for the DMCs on the Indian subcontinent, in Africa and in the Indian Ocean. In addition to operational management, Habig was entrusted with the business development of the global DMC division at TUI as well as corresponding areas of responsibility within the framework of the group strategy. Most recently, he drove the digital transformation of the business model for round trips across source markets and destinations. "With Mario Habig, we welcome an experienced expert in DMC management and strategic corporate management to our ranks," explains Schiller, "With his multi-layered competencies in the operational management of DMCs as well as in business development and with cross-cultural assignments, we will be able to uncover and exploit new growth opportunities with our agencies."

The CEO of the group sums up: "We are pleased to have won over renowned greats with these professionals in the hospitality sector and in DMC management," says Ralph Schiller. "We still see great potential for development in both the hotel and agency segments and, with the support of Sabine Dorn-Aglagul and Mario Habig, we will position ourselves much more strongly in the future, closely linked to the tour operator business.”
