New president for the World PCO Alliance

WPCOA has at the recent Annual General Meeting in Frankfurt elected a new President.

TAIPEI – Kitty Wong of K&A International, Taiwan has replaced Per Ankaer from ICS – International Conference Services in Denmark, who had been President since 2013 and now takes an advisory role as Immediate Past President.

“It’s my honor and privilege to serve as the President,” says Wong. “Ever since the Alliance was established in 2009, under the leadership of my predecessors – Anthony Wong, AOS Conventions & Events of Malaysia and Per Ankaer, International Conference Services (ICS) of Denmark, we have made good progress in our brand name awareness in the MICE industry worldwide and expanded members’ market share globally. During my term as President, through the tight cohesion of our Alliance, I hope we can pull together more multilateral cooperation through interactive among members.”

Gregg H. Talley of Talley Management Group in the U.S.A. has been elected as Vice President and Dr. Noel Mitchell of Keynote PCO in Ireland was sworn in as the new Treasurer.

There is a strong network approach in the Alliance and most of the members are involved in various international projects, in order to improve the advantages for the clients in terms of better logistics, more creative and environmentally friendly solutions and better financial results.

The World PCO Alliance exhibited for the third year at IMEX and had over 200 meetings with potential clients.

The World PCO Alliance was created to help associations organize effective meetings throughout the globe. Representing the leading PCOs throughout the globe, this cohesive group aims to capitalize on the efficiency of consolidating conference and event services within one network. By sharing resources, knowledge, technology, training and best practices, the Alliance is the associations’ one-stop solution for international meetings and conferences.

All members of the Alliance are leaders in the meetings industry in their respective countries and regions, and have a record of contributing to the development of the local meetings and events industry.

The group of PCOs organizes in total 500 yearly congresses and had over 400,000 delegates attending the congresses in 2014.
