New way to Norway from London City Airport with Flynonstop

There’ll be a new name on the departures board at London City Airport [LCY] when the first flight to Norway takes off in April 2013.

Premium start-up airline Flynonstop will fly five times per week from LCY to Kjevik Airport, Kristiansand, offering easy access to the Nordic region for business and leisure travellers in the City and Greater London. A brand new 100-seat Embraer E-190 jet will operate on the route, with each seat having its own ipad.

Kristiansand is the capital of southern Norway and is a major business hub for the shipbuilding, oil and gas industries, making the new LCY route ideal with the airport’s its close proximity to the City of London and Canary Wharf.

The area is also known for its rugged coast, small rocky reefs and islands, busy summer harbours, white wooden houses and calendar of festivals. It has been a hidden gem for outdoor activities in all seasons and one that has now been brought closer by Flynonstop’s new operation.

Bernard Lavelle, Sales Director at London City Airport said: “We are delighted that Flynonstop has chosen London City Airport as its UK base, opening up Norway and the wider Nordic region as a new destination for our passengers. Norway is a beautiful country and I’m sure it will prove a popular destination for travellers from London and the South East. The new route will also open up opportunities for the smaller Norwegian airports to connect directly to central London, benefitting both leisure and business travellers.”

London City Airport prides itself on offering an exclusive experience and quick and convenient check-in and arrivals processes. The airport is situated just three miles from Canary Wharf and has its own station on the Docklands Light Railway, connecting it directly to the London Underground network.

The first flight to Kjevik will depart London City Airport on 25th April 2013.
