Nicaragua Tourism Board renews representation agreement with Myriad International Marketing

Arrivals from North America have increased by nearly 70 percent compared to 2016.

LOS ANGELES, CA – INTUR, Nicaragua’s Tourism Board, has renewed its tourism promotion and representation contract with Myriad International Marketing, re-assigning the Los Angeles-based agency as representative in the U.S.A. and Canada. Myriad, an MMGY Global company will handle all tourism marketing, trade promotion, and public relations for the thriving Central American destination.

“We are very excited to continue our partnership with Myriad and MMGY Global in the North American market, and are confident the agency will help sustain and grow Nicaragua’s momentum in these priority markets,” said Ana Carolina Garcia, INTUR’s promotion and marketing director.

INTUR first appointed Myriad as its North America representative in August 2016. In its first year working together, Nicaragua successfully launched significant travel trade initiatives in market, and hosted over a dozen media visits, leading to a continued rise in earned media coverage – and arrivals from North America. Arrivals from North America have increased by nearly 70 percent compared to 2016. A recent report by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) revealed that Nicaragua has become one of the top ten world’s fastest growing destinations for 2017.

“We are thrilled to once again be a part of INTUR’s international marketing team,” said Al Merschen, partner at Myriad. “Our dedicated bicoastal team is eager to increase consumer and travel trade awareness about Nicaragua. The country is now unfolding its full potential as a vacation destination in Latin America. We are so honored to be their North America representative”.

The Nicaragua Tourism Board team is based out of Myriad’s Los Angeles office with support across MMGY Global Kansas City, MO and New York, NY offices.
