Pacific World launches ‘Opening Eyes’

New Corporate Social Responsibility Programme will focus on delivering support to local communities.

Pacific World, the global MICE player, has announced the launch of their new corporate social responsibility programme ‘Opening Eyes’. The programme aims to ‘open eyes, open minds and give smiles’, and will encourage delegates to ‘give something back’ to the local community in the destination they are visiting.

Opening Eyes has been specifically designed to benefit local people in the cities where Pacific World organise events.

The new initiative will create a platform for delegates and association members to get directly involved with local charities and NGOs and offers a range of activities, which are run as workshops, or as teambuilding exercises, each tailored to contributing to the local community whilst also creating a fun and memorable experience for participants.

Herve Joseph-Antoine, Global Managing Director of Pacific World comments, “Opening Eyes is a way for our attendees to make a positive impact on the destinations that they visit; all too often delegates travel to MICE events or congresses are not provided with the opportunity to give something back to the local community. This new initiative aims to literally open the eyes of attendees and allow them to contribute tangibly towards making a difference”.

“Our Pacific World destinations will be involved, choosing an activity which is unique to their location and will help to make a valuable difference in their local community. This could be, for example, taking three hours out of your day when attending a conference to build bicycles for local children, or working with a charity to plant trees. We will also be organising donation collections at larger conferences and congresses, allowing delegates to contribute at a local level – the possibilities really are endless,” concluded Joseph-Antonine.

Following their worldwide rebranding in November 2011, Pacific World has become a global brand recognised for delivering operational excellence, creativity and best-in-class customer service. Through working closely with local governments and convention centres, Pacific World currently delivers event solutions in 17 countries including Spain, Portugal, Greece, France, Monaco, United Kingdom, China, India, Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea and the Southern Africa region.
