Paradies awarded contracts to upgrade retail in two Houston airports

Premier airport concessionaire to deliver new national brands and locally-influenced concepts.

ATLANTA, GA – Leading airport retailer Paradies received final approval on an agreement with the Houston Airports System to bring more than 20 exciting new retail concepts to both George Bush Intercontinental Airport (GBIA) and Houston Hobby Airport (HOU). This overhaul of each airport’s shopping experience infuses a collection of cutting-edge national brands with locally-themed stores that pay tribute to a variety of Houston icons and communities.

Through a dedicated research and development process, Paradies delivered a strong “sense of place” from the local community with its proposed offerings. Houston western wear legend, Pinto Ranch, will introduce its first airport retail location at GBIA while travel essential stores themed after local NBC affiliate KPRC 2 will debut at both airports. Additional locally-themed concepts will showcase popular products from the surrounding and regional areas.

Houston travelers will be welcomed, engaged and entertained by national brands such as Dylan’s Candy Bar, a replica of the world’s largest confectionery emporium by owner, Dylan Lauren; SPANX, the leading shape-wear brand for both women and men; Univision, featuring popular travel items and programming in English and Spanish throughout the day; and CNBC Smartshop, a travel essential venue reflective of the world’s foremost provider of business and financial news;

Travelers can also shop for Apple products and more at eSavvy, an electronics accessories store, while experiencing high-end shopping at Brooks Brothers, TUMI and CORSA Collections, a concept offering popular items by Alex and Ani, Kendra Scott, Rebecca Minkoff, and many others.

“We are ecstatic to be awarded these two significant retail contracts with the Houston Airports System,” said Gregg Paradies, president and CEO of Paradies. “Our success at George Bush Intercontinental Airport over the past decade and strong knowledge of the Houston traveler allowed us to define and deliver a collection of local and national brands that will significantly support the goals of each airport and will enhance the traveler’s experience.”

Paradies has successfully operated retail concessions in GBIA for the past 10 years. The Houston Hobby program is a new venture for the organization. A phased construction process is set to begin later this year.
