Port of Seattle welcomes first flight to Cologne on Eurowings

Nonstop seasonal service gives Sea-Tac travelers another new destination to explore.

SEATTLE – The Port of Seattle welcomed Eurowings’ new nonstop seasonal service to Cologne, Germany with the inaugural flight from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Cologne is Germany’s fourth-largest city and is the center of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan area, home to more than 11 million people.

The Port of Seattle Fire Department greeted the Airbus A-330 with a traditional water cannon salute as it arrived to Sea-Tac Airport. The new, twice-a-week seasonal service features a 310-seat Airbus A330-200 on one of Europe’s leading low-cost airlines.

Eurowings, part of the Lufthansa Group, is a low-cost leisure airline that focuses on providing customers with affordable flights to more than 130 destinations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Sea-Tac is one of only four Eurowings destinations in the United States.
