Five star destination Portavadie is set to open a new state of the art Spa and Leisure Experience in a superb loch-side setting on Scotland’s west coast.

Due to open in late summer 2015, the new facilities are the next stage in a further £10 million pound phased development to compliment this unique destination in a stunning location.

When complete, the leisure experience will offer the ultimate in relaxation, featuring a 16-metre indoor pool, toddlers’ pool with water features, outdoor spa pools, Scandinavian sauna, Precor equipped gymnasium and the largest outdoor infinity pool in Scotland. The facilities are complemented by a new cafe featuring stone baked handmade pizza and freshly churned ice cream.

Available to all guests and day visitors, the new offering will also feature therapeutic spa treatments, a hydro pool, steam room and a relaxation space, all with breathtaking floor to ceiling views across Loch Fyne to the Isle of Arran. These sit alongside Portavadie’s existing range of luxury apartments, cottages, lodges, award winning marina, superb dining and outdoor experiences.

In line with the luxurious surroundings, the spa will use Decleor and Ishga product houses, incorporating bespoke signature treatments. It will offer day packages which include treatments, full use of the Spa and Leisure Experiences and a bento box lunch, using locally sourced produce.

Built using glass, steel, stone and neutral tones, the new facility has also been created with the environment in mind and is powered by a woodchip biomass generator.

When open, it will be overseen by spa & leisure manager Stephen McCafferty who brings a wealth of expertise, having worked for some of Scotland’s finest locations including Cameron House and Macdonald Hotels.

Iain Jurgensen, general manager, said: “We have been on a journey of discovery in creating this world class Spa and Leisure Experience at Portavadie, driven by our passion to create something truly special for our guests to enjoy time and again. It is a wonderful light-filled, modern facility that brings something totally unique to the west coast of Scotland. From the superb infinity pool to the tranquil relaxation spaces, we’re offering the ultimate in luxury and reward for our guests. I am proud to see it open at Portavadie and we look forward to welcoming our first guests.”
