Pulkovo Airport increases passenger traffic by 10.3% for the six months of 2019

In January-June 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 80,310 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 4.7% year-on-year.

In January-June 2019, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed 8,767,773 passengers, which is 10.3% more than in the same period of 2018. The number of passengers on domestic flights grew by 13% to 5,540,592 passengers. International traffic increased by 5.9% and amounted to 3,227,181 passengers.

In January-June 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 80,310 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 4.7% year-on-year.

In January-June 2019, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, Pobeda, S7 Airlines, and Ural Airlines were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 5,433,800 passengers at St. Petersburg airport or 62% of the total traffic for that period. Among foreign airlines, Lufthansa, Uzbekistan Airways, Belavia, Finnair, and airBaltic became the leaders at St. Petersburg Airport for the 6-month period of 2019. In total, they handled 634,937 passengers at Pulkovo or 7.2% of the airport traffic in January-June 2019.

In June 2019, 1,988,483 passengers traveled through Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport, a number 3.8% higher than in the same month of 2018.

Domestic traffic amounted to 1,122,833 passengers. International traffic amounted to 865,650 passengers. In June 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 16,278 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 1.3% year-on-year.

In June 2019, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines, Pobeda, and Ural Airlines were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 1,160,745 passengers or 58.4% of the total traffic at St. Petersburg Airport for that period. Among foreign airlines, the leaders were Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Belavia, Uzbekistan Airways, and Finnair. In total, they handled 140,763 passengers at Pulkovo or 7.1% of the airport traffic in June 2019.

In June 2019, the route network of Pulkovo Airport expanded with a new destination of Kunming, the capital and largest city of Yunnan province in southwest China. In addition, the first part of a new walk-through Duty Paid store was opened in the domestic departures hall of St. Petersburg airport.
