Northern Capital Gateway (NCG), the operator of Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport, by May, 2020 will implement an intelligent digital enterprise management system (ERP system) with in-Memory technology and machine learning capabilities. The new system based on the innovative platform SAP S/4HANA will allow the airport to regulate accounting and management processes and maintain active business growth under constant changes.
The memorandum on cooperation between the companies was signed by Leonid Sergeev, NCG Chief Executive Officer, and Alexei Petunin, SAP CIS Deputy Chief Executive Officer, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019.
Within the framework of the project, the airport operator will increase the degree of automation of financial and management accounting, supply processes, real estate management, HR management, maintenance and repairs of specialised machinery and equipment, optimise resource planning. The system will allow integration of various software tools and databases, which ultimately will increase the quality and efficiency of operational processes and customer service. The implementation partner is Novardis.
Leonid Sergeev, NCG CEO, noted: “In 2018, Pulkovo served 18.1 million people and was among the top five fastest growing European airports in its category. The list of strategic priorities of NCG includes a further increase in passenger traffic, expansion of infrastructure, route network, attraction of new airlines to St. Petersburg, including low-cost carriers. Solving these tasks requires reliable, flexible and advanced IT architecture, which we will create together with SAP, the international leader of digital solutions for business”.
Aleksey Petunin, SAP CIS Deputy CEO, noted: “SAP S/4HANA digital ERP system is the digital core that combines all elements of Industry 4.0 and allows monitoring of processes online. It is obvious that any enterprise today cannot do without modern systems that make the processes simple and transparent, and even more so such a complex multi-component business like an airport. That is why the aviation industry is among the most technologically advanced and rapidly developing areas in the world. A single digital platform will allow Pulkovo not only to support intensive growth, but also provide an opportunity to become an intelligent airport in the future, using elements of machine learning, artificial intelligence, big data and other innovative solutions in operation”.
