ATHENS – From 6th until 10th June 2016 Qatar Airways is participating at Posidonia 2016, the leading international shipping event taking place at the Athens Metropolitan Expo.
As the world’s most prestigious maritime exhibition, Posidonia 2016 has seen a 15 per cent growth in size for this year’s event. Furthermore, with a total of over 40,000 square meters of exhibition floor space and a record 40 conferences and new sporting events, this year’s exhibition is the biggest in the event’s almost 50 year-long history.
Over 1,800 exhibitors from 89 countries will participate at the biennial maritime show for a week of intense networking and business exchanges. at the Athens Metropolitan Expo. In total, some 20,000 of the most prominent executives from the Greek and international shipping communities will visit the state-of-the-art venue which every two years becomes the global hub of attention for an industry which carries around 90% of world trade. The gravitas of Posidonia and its reputation as the most important shipping event is mainly owed to its status as the home of Greek shipping which accounts for around 20 percent of the world’s dwt tonnage.
