Qatar Airways launches non-stop service to Zagreb

Passengers flying into and out of Zagreb will benefit from the new six-hour non-stop route which will provide reduced overall travel times to and from many of Qatar Airways’ 141 destinations around the world.

DOHA, Qatar –  Qatar Airways announced today that commencing 1 October 2014, the airline will offer non-stop flights from Doha to Zagreb three times weekly. The new direct flights will provide a more convenient alternative to the current daily flights to Zagreb which fly via Budapest before moving onwards to the Croatian capital.
 
From 1 October, passengers will be able to fly daily directly to Budapest, four times a week to Zagreb via Budapest on a linked flight, and three times a week directly to Zagreb on the delinked flight.
 
Passengers flying into and out of Zagreb will benefit from the new six-hour non-stop route which will provide reduced overall travel times to and from many of Qatar Airways’ 141 destinations around the world. The airline’s expanding global reach and significant growth in size of its ever-increasing fleet, as well as the popularity of the route, has enabled the airline to offer this new non-stop thrice-weekly service.
 
Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “In the two years since we began flying to Zagreb we have watched it grow into one of our most popular destinations in Europe. This is why I am so pleased that we are now able to provide our passengers with a new and more convenient option by offering a direct flight to this beautiful city direct from Doha. We are also excited that those travelling with Qatar Airways will now have the opportunity to experience and explore the new state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport, our newest pride and joy.”
 
Passengers flying from Zagreb and onwards will enjoy a quick and convenient transfer at Hamad International Airport, the newest airport hub in the world. With HIA offering more than 100 retail and dining options, as well as activity nodes and art pieces for passengers to explore, the airport is sure to further enhance passengers’ overall travel experience.
 
The new route schedule will increase seats to 240 Business Class and 2,640 Economy Class per week, an increase of 72 and 384 seats respectively. The airline will continue to fly the A320 aircraft direct to and from Zagreb. With its two-cabin configuration, comprising of 12 seats in Business Class and 132 Economy Class seats, the A320 offers Qatar Airways passengers five-star excellence in both service and on-board comfort.
 
Qatar Airways, the State of Qatar’s national airline, has seen rapid growth in just 17 years of operation, to the point where today it is flying a modern fleet of 134 aircraft to 141 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.
 
Over the next few months, the network will grow further with new routes to Miami, USA (June 10, 2014), Tokyo Haneda, Japan (June 18, 2014), Dallas/Fort Worth, USA (July 1, 2014) and Djibouti (July 27, 2014).
