The report continues to indicate that “comfortable and practical seating options are available throughout the terminal, and the Quito Airport Center offers a wide range of shopping, dining and facility options. Staff service throughout the airport offers a good service level and, for the region, language skills are above average.”

“Being among the 17 airports ranked in the highest category worldwide is a reflection of the commitment of all the entities and companies involved in the management of passenger services at the Quito airport, who provide an experience of excellence in all areas of airport service management” said Ramón Miró, president and CEO of Corporación Quiport, Quito airport concessionaire.

Skytrax is the leading independent research organization specializing in passenger service management levels for the global air transport industry. The audit, carried out a few weeks ago, evaluated the general performance and quality of the services that guarantee a positive experience for the passenger and the ease of navigation within the airport. The organization's team of professional auditors visited the terminal to analyze factors such as access roads, security, immigration services, service quality, cleaning, process flows, signage, transportation, among othes.

“As the Municipality of Quito, through the Metropolitan Airport Services Company (EPMSA), responsible for ensuring the compliance with the commitments made by the concessionaire and for airport security, we are pleased to know that we are offering to our city and to the passengers of the world high standards of service, which in turn shows the capital of Ecuador to the world with all its potential and the warmth of its people”, said Katya Bastidas, general manager of the EPMSA).

“The synergy and teamwork between the Municipality of Quito, airport concessionaire, airlines, commercial operators and government institutions have been important to ensure that our airport has been chosen by the British auditor Skytrax as one of the leaders in service and to get the renewal of the 5 stars that would not be possible without committed collaborators and with firm values to achieve joint goals", highlighted Katya Bastidas, who also assured that "we consider this award as a challenge to continue improving every day as the Airport of the beautiful city to which we represent."

Meanwhile, the CEO of Quiport explained that “to reach this great achievement, the positive contribution of both the Municipality of the Metropolitan District of Quito and the National Government has been key. We couldn’t have been able to reach this category if it had not been for the support and commitment of Quiport's shareholders, Odinsa from Colombia, CCR from Brazil and HAS Development Corporation from the United States, who have facilitated decision-making in a key project for Quiport ”.

This distinction ratifies the high level of excellence of those who make up part of the Mariscal Sucre International Airport community. "Together we have made this airport a benchmark on a regional and global scale, thanks to the fact that we share the same vision: to serve our passengers, the city and the country with the highest standards of comfort, safety and efficiency", emphasized Mr. Miró, who also thanked the 7,000 people who work at the Quito airport for their commitment, professionalism and dedication, which have undoubtedly had a lot to do with this milestone.
