Renfe-SNCF trains now provide free WiFi services

Connection will be available for all clients on board international trains in Spanish as well as in French territory. The WiFi service will enable access to Internet and to multimedia and online platforms: Play Renfe and Le WiFi.

BARCELONA – Renfe-SNCF en Cooperation trains now provide a new free WiFi service on board their international trains that link Spain and France. The WiFi connection service will be available to all clients on board international trains in Spanish and French territory, and will be totally free of charge.

To enjoy this WiFi service, clients must access one of two connection platforms provided by Renfe and SNCF through Play Renfe, on the routes Lyon-Barcelona and Marseille-Barcelona-Madrid, or Le WiFi, on routes Paris-Barcelona and Toulouse-Barcelona.

Through said connection platforms, clients will be able to access 4G connectivity (access to emails, social networks…) and to enjoy various digital contents depending on the platform (such as films, books, games, music) and on-demand information about timetables, fares, buying tickets, etc.

Renfe-SNCF en Cooperation services link Barcelona, Girona and Figueras with Paris, Lyon, Toulouse, Carcassonne, Marseille, Perpignan, Narbonne, Montpellier, Nimes, Avignon, Aix-en-Provence or Valence. If starting from Madrid, Zaragoza or Tarragona, clients can travel to Marseille, Avignon or Aix-en-Provence passing through the Southern French cities of Perpignan, Narbonne, Montpellier or Nimes.

Renfe – SNCF in Cooperation
The two leading high-speed rail operators have joined forces to offer all their know-how and experience to international travellers. Each company gave ten high-speed trains to this project (TGV Euroduplex and AVE S-100 models), and cooperated in the process to certify the trains and crews. They also set up a joint marketing and sales strategy to offer a single product.

For this project to become a reality, it was also necessary to coordinate the technical aspects of three different rail system operators (ADIF, RFF and TP Ferro).
