SAS to transform the airport experience at Newark International Airport Lounge

Lounge access is granted to passengers in SAS Premium Economy Cabin, SAS Plus, and above, and Star Alliance and Eurobonus members who have Gold status and above. Eurobonus Silver members have lounge access within select dates during the summer and Christmas.

SAS has partnered with AbsolutArt.com to create a showcase of works at the Newark Liberty International Airport SAS Lounge. In total, more than 30 pieces will be displayed throughout the lounge from May 7 – October 31, 2018.

The collection has been carefully selected to pay homage to both brands’ home of Scandinavia, but includes as well globally sourced pieces.

“As innovators in aviation, we continue to adapt and evolve to provide our guests with services and experiences that are uniquely Scandinavian.“Partnering with our friends at Absolut Art allows our guests to further immerse themselves in Scandinavian culture and design even before take-off,” says Max Knagge, SAS General Manager Americas.

Lounge access is granted to passengers in SAS Premium Economy Cabin, SAS Plus, and above, and Star Alliance and Eurobonus members who have Gold status and above. Eurobonus Silver members have lounge access within select dates during the summer and Christmas.

AbsolutArt.com worked with globally famed curators to select pieces from local and internationally renowned artists such as Samara Golden, Erik Berglin and Los Carpinteros.

AbsolutArt.com will touch down in the lounge to host interactive events, designed to enrich the cultural curiosities of travelers and champion pioneering artists.

SAS launches a new and exclusive Champagne and beer selection this summer
SAS is looking forward to treating travelers this summer continuing two exciting collaborations delivering exclusive new inflight drinks. A SAS exclusive deal with Charles Heidsieck will serve up a new vintage Champagne, while a continued collaboration with Mikkeller delivers a summery non-alcoholic beer from the Danish brewery. The partnership with Charles Hiedsieck Rose Vintage Champagne means SAS Business passengers will be the only ones in the world able to taste a newly released vintage, with SAS replacing its Non-Vintage Brut with the previously unreleased Rose vintage 2005 and all remaining bottles of the 2006 vintage.

In an ongoing collaboration with Danish brewery Mikkeller, SAS is also following up the introduction of its first exclusive beers, introduced a year ago as part of the ‘New Nordic Food & Beverage’ concept, with a non-alcoholic beer. Served on all SAS routes, the new non-alcoholic beer is brewed to deliver a light yet fruity taste, where the hops, Belgian yeast and spices offer a complex and very drinkable beer, perfect for the summer season.
