Scotland’s most luxurious spa now open at Portavadie

Luxury west coast retreat, Portavadie has now opened Scotland’s newest and most luxurious spa and leisure experience.

As part of a further £10m development, the spa and leisure complex includes a 16-metre indoor pool, outdoor spa pools, two Scandinavian saunas, Precor equipped gymnasium and the largest heated outdoor infinity pool in Scotland.

Like the outdoor pools, the indoor facilities including the gym and spa areas – and even the saunas – offer stunning floor to ceiling views across Loch Fyne and beyond to the Isle of Arran, bringing nature right into the facility and flooding the building with light.

Both guests and visitors can enjoy the new offering, with complimentary leisure access for shore side residents, and prices for day visitors and water based residents.

The spa will use bespoke signature treatments from the product houses of DECLEOR and ishga and the generously proportioned custom treatment rooms have been fitted out with high end equipment and furnishings, including a superb sound and lighting system which creates and enhances the atmosphere and mood of each room.

Iain Jurgensen, general manager, said: “It’s fantastic to see our unique, world class spa and leisure experience at Portavadie now open.

“The team has created the most stunning light-filled relaxation and wellness space, offering the ultimate in luxury and reward for our guests.

“We are all proud to see our beautiful glass doors open to guests and visitors. Already the feedback is excellent and locals, marina visitors and guests have been simply blown away by the breath-taking setting and facilities.”

Dr Mike Cantlay OBE, Chairman of national tourism organisation VisitScotland, said: “I’m delighted to hear that the luxurious new spa and leisure complex has now opened at Portavadie and am looking forwarding to seeing its superb new facilities.

“This major investment project to further enhance what was already a first-class destination and create a whole new product offering is a significant development for both the tourism industry in Argyll and for the local economy.

“I congratulate Iain and his team on realising their vision of developing such a unique visitor experience and I’m sure the spa and leisure experience will be a marvellous success.”

The current range of luxurious apartments, self-catering cottages, studio apartments, lodge rooms and the finest Scottish cuisine in loch-side restaurants and bars complements the new addition. A range of activities is also available including: mountain biking, walking, sailing, rib rides, or simply exploring the surrounding area and soaking up the scenery.

The spa and leisure experience at Portavadie is open to residents throughout the week, with non-resident options Sunday-Friday from 12pm-5pm.
