St. Lawrence Cruise Lines delays start of 2021 cruising season

Summer cruise schedule to begin on June 24th.

CANADA – Due to the current province-wide lockdown and to allow sufficient time to reduce the number of cases of Covid-19 in Ontario, St. Lawrence Cruise Lines has opted to alter their 2021 cruise schedule to begin on June 24th, 2021. This new starting date should also allow travellers a greater opportunity to be vaccinated and tested prior to boarding.

All cruise line guests who had previously planned to travel in May have been accommodated with a new cruise date in June. The cruise line intends to operate the remainder of summer and fall cruises as previously scheduled.

St. Lawrence Cruise Lines President Jason Clark comments, “While we are disappointed to delay the start of our cruising season, we are eager to accept passengers on June 24th and we remain excited to provide a Canadian travel experience during the summer and fall months.”

St. Lawrence Cruise Lines operates calm water overnight cruises on the St. Lawrence and Ottawa Rivers. Some key features of their cruises are the small ship profile of the 32-stateroom Canadian Empress, an all-Canadian crew, and a robust Health and Safety program that was awarded the Safe Travels Stamp by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) for adherence to global standards of health and hygiene.

St. Lawrence Cruise Lines offers a variety of cruises from 4 to 7 nights in length, with departures from Kingston, Ottawa, and Quebec City. The vessel travels exclusively in Canadian waters and makes overnight stops at select ports in Ontario and Quebec. All staterooms have access to fresh air, climate controls, and an intimate view of the river.

St. Lawrence Cruise Lines is a Kingston-owned business operating on the St. Lawrence River since 1981.
