Star Alliance appoints SAS’ Charlotta Wieland as Interim CEO of the alliance

Charlotta Wieland has been the SAS representative on the alliance management board of Star Alliance for the past six years.

SAS announce that Charlotta Wieland, VP Alliances & Industry Affairs at SAS will join Star Alliance as Interim Chief Executive Officer in January 2023.

Star Alliance’s CEO Jeffrey Goh is leaving the alliance on 31 December 2022. While the global search for a new CEO is ongoing, SAS’ Charlotta Wieland will assume the role as Interim CEO.

“SAS has a special history with Star Alliance as one of the founding partners in 1997, and I am honored and excited to take on this role. I look forward to continuing to work closely with all partners in the development of this strong alliance,” Wieland says.

Charlotta has been the SAS representative on the alliance management board of Star Alliance for the past six years. For the past two years she has also been a member of the Board’s Strategy Committee.
