Summer travel, plans and purchasing look different this year compared to 2021, according to Prodege survey

Prodege surveyed 1,062 people in the UK and 1,061 people in the US on May 2nd about their summer travel and entertainment plans.

As the summer season approaches and pandemic restrictions are lifted, there has been revitalization in travel. Prodege surveyed 1,062 people in the UK and 1,061 people in the US on May 2nd about their summer travel and entertainment plans. Some key highlights from the survey include:

US Survey Results:

  • 33% of people surveyed said they’re planning on traveling more and hosting/attending more events this summer than last summer, and 37% said they are planning on traveling about as much and hosting/attending about as many events as last summer.
  • 63% of people surveyed considered gas prices to be the biggest factor in deciding to travel less or host/attend fewer events this coming summer.
  • 78% of people surveyed plan on driving to their destinations when travelling this summer.
  • 60% of people surveyed reported taking a vacation last summer, with 21% reporting plans to cut back on vacation plans for this summer and 74% of people citing gas prices as the reason for cutting back on plans.

UK Survey Results:

  • 39% of people surveyed said they’re planning on traveling more and hosting/attending more events this summer than last summer, and 27% said they are planning on traveling about as much and hosting/attending about as many events as last summer.
  • 44% of people surveyed considered petrol prices to be the biggest factor in deciding to travel less or host/attend fewer events this coming summer.
  • 55% of people surveyed plan on driving to their destinations when travelling this summer, and 47% of people are planning to fly to their destinations.
  • 46% of people surveyed reported taking a vacation last summer, with 29% reporting plans to cut back on vacation plans for this summer and 53% of people citing both petrol prices and flight costs as the reason for cutting back on plans.
