Switchfly joins Denver tech boom

San Francisco-based travel technology company is recruiting software engineers to transform travel at new development hub in Denver.

SAN FRANCISCO – Switchfly, a San Francisco-based technology innovator for the travel industry, is recruiting developers and software engineers for its world-class development hub in Denver. The company began local hiring in July and expects to have 50+ employees in the region by the end of the year.

In a Hired.com study, Denver ranked second in the country as the most appealing city in the U.S. for software engineers. "Denver is a perfect storm of tech talent, economic opportunity and local culture," said Amy Shat, EVP Human Resources. "If you care about amazing travel experiences and developing software that makes life more rewarding for you and your friends, then Switchfly is the company for you. Even if you're not on the job market right now, Switchfly wants to connect with great minds and talented software engineers in the Denver startup and technology communities."

Switchfly understands the great variety of experiences that has been moving tech talent to U.S. cities such as Denver, Austin, Portland and Seattle. Switchfly's Denver hub will be critical in helping the company build the next generation of travel technology while tapping into economic growth, deep talent resources and an entrepreneurial culture in the Denver-Boulder region. Switchfly offers software developers in Denver a chance to be part of a global company with a highly diverse workforce and a dynamic industry with the challenge of transforming travel.

As an example of the real-world challenges software engineers will tackle at Switchfly, the company most recently applied its travel commerce platform to solving the costly logistical problems associated with cancelled flights and stranded passengers who need re-accommodations. "The quality of travel depends on the quality and power of the software that manages highly complex databases for travel providers and millions of travelers every day. Switchfly needs software developers who can build that power out while designing a great user experience on the front and back ends," said Jen Stephen, EVP Technology.
