On its two new routes, the Guatemalan airline began operations in Mexico. The company reaffirms its firm commitment to strengthening air connectivity in the region.
GUATEMALA – The Guatemalan company TAG Airlines made the inaugural flights covering the Guatemala-Cancun and Guatemala-Tapachula routes, which mark the start of operations of the company in Mexico.
Julio Gamero, CEO of TAG Airlines, said the new routes will link the two countries and allow leisure and business travelers to reduce travel times and costs.
"Mexico is a strategic destination for the Central American region. Guatemala is the heart of the Mayan world and offers a wide variety of attractions. Cancun is the main tourist destination in Mexico and Latin America, as well as an important pole of attraction for investments; while Tapachula is the main gateway from Central America to Mexico," he said.
The new Guatemala-Cancun-Guatemala route serves the following itinerary with four weekly frequencies:
