The BU Tourism futures forum @ WTM 2013

On November 6, 2013 Bournemouth University will, in partnership with the World Travel Market and Travel Daily News, host the free event ‘BU Tourism Futures Forum‘ at the World Travel Market 2013.

LONDON – Following last year’s success of BU Tourism Futures Forum @ WTM 2012, tourism experts from Bournemouth University will once again organise a forum about the tourism futures at the World Travel Market 2013. The forum will take place in form of interactive discussions among leading tourism practitioners from around the world to examine the future of tourism. This will provide participants with insights into the future dimensions of the tourism industry and major trends in supply and demand that will lead to international tourism restructuring. The aim of the event is to facilitate the debate about key strategic changes in the tourism industry andto evoke successful responses.

Panellists of the forum form a mix of practitioners from world-known travel and tourism organisations and academics from influencing universities. Among them will be:

The event will be chaired by the Chair in tourism at Bournemouth University Professor Dimitrios Buhalis, who will encourage the participants to contribute to the debate.  In addition two short research-based presentations will be given to stimulate the discussions.  Prior to the event participants are encouraged to engage in the conversations on the Facebook group to make first contacts and raise issues to be considered at the event.

BU Tourism Futures Forum will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 13.00 to 15.00 the South Gallery 25 + 26. The event is completely for free but participation requires an admission to the WTM at www.wtmlondon.com and an additional registration at http://bufutureforum13.eventbrite.co.uk/.
