The first annual Heights Awards winners

The Heights Awards have been created to celebrate creative excellence in inflight and onboard advertising.

LONDON, UK – The winners of the inaugural Heights Awards were announced, marking the very first time that leaders from the marketing, design and advertising industry have come together to celebrate excellence in inflight advertising. Inflight advertisers were recognised for global and creative excellence in nine categories, including fashion, jewellery and automotive.

The Heights Awards have been created to celebrate creative excellence in inflight and onboard advertising. Each month, thousands of leading brands, hotels, tourist boards and businesses from all over the world advertise through inflight magazines. These include some of the most creative and innovative adverts, which engage with hundreds of millions of passengers taking to the skies each year. Winners were selected from adverts that appeared in the world’s best inflight magazines over the last 12 months.

“It has been an absolute honour to play a major part in this year’s Heights Awards, at last, a chance for some of the world’s finest creatives to showcase some of the wonderful work produced and published across the global inflight media platform,” said Stevie Craig, the founder and organiser of this year’s Heights Awards. “The bar has been set amazingly high, the quality of design and some very powerful brand positioning has laid the foundations for a very high level of entries for next year’s 2014 awards… I firmly believe The Heights has become one of those accolades every agency needs to get their hands on, or at the very least be a part of.”

The Kooples took top spot for overall global creative excellence for its February 2012 advert in Eurostar’s Metropolitan magazine. Other winners included Jaguar, Victorinox, Chanel and Intercontinental Hotels.

Craig added, “We were blown away by the quality of adverts received. The winners are a true reflection of the exciting and innovative nature of inflight advertising. On behalf of the judges, I want to congratulate this year’s winners for their dedication to perfecting their craft and making inflight one of the most exciting venues for advertising.”
