The world's best airline caterers to be announced

Presented by Medina Quality, the QSAI awards identify the top catering companies from across the globe out of a roster of more than 220 catering facilities from over 50 countries.

Each year, quality assurance expert Medina Quality names the best in-flight caterers in the business at a ceremony celebration presented by a global roster of major airlines that participate in the Quality and Safety Alliances In-Flight Services (QSAI).

Presented by Medina Quality, the QSAI awards identify the top catering companies from across the globe out of a roster of more than 220 catering facilities from over 50 countries.

“Today we are pleased to announce the top 9 finalists,” says Matthew Brown, Operations Manager – Client Relationship Management of Medina Quality – the company responsible for delivering the QSAI programme. “In March, the overall winner will be crowned, along with the top facilities in the Americas, Asia, and Europe/Middle East/Africa.”

Last year’s Platinum Award for Worldwide Excellence – the highest award overall – went to LSG Sky Chefs in Munich, Germany, for the first time. This year’s nominee list is the freshest ever – a third of the facilities appear on the list for the first time. However, will Munich successfully defend its position as the world’s best?

“Medina Quality designed the QSAI programme to allow airlines to monitor and improve the quality and safety of meals provided by their caterers to ensure they are continuously meeting the standards of their customers” says Matthew Brown. “The QSAI Excellence Awards recognize the dedication these caterers have towards protecting the health and satisfaction of passengers and crew.”

Participants in the QSAI Programme include Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, Air France, Air Tahiti Nui, Aeroflot Russian Airlines, All Nippon Airways, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, Virgin Atlantic Airways, and Via Rail Canada.

The nominees for this year’s gold, silver, bronze and platinum awards are:
