Touristlink now hosts over 1,000 unique experiences

Touristlink.com, the social marketplace for travel announces that tour guides and operators have now listed over 1,000 unique travel packages in over 90 countries.

INDIA – Touristlink.com announces that it now features over 1000 trips from local tour guides and tour operators. Touristlink is a social market place linking travelers with small local travel providers. The Touristlink team launched an imitative in November of 2012 that allowed local providers the ability to promote their own tours and packages alongside their social profiles.

The launch was met with great excitement from tour operators who have been very active in the Touristlink community. Reaching the 1,000 product mark is a significant milestone as visitors to the site can now find tours and unique travel experiences in over 90 countries. Touristlink reports that the number of new trips and tour providers continues to accelerate with most of the new trips added in the past few months.

Travelers visiting the site can see the unique offerings provided by each tour guide and then interact directly with them if they want more information or are interested in customizing and creating their own individualized experience. Founder of the site David Urmann commented that “Travelers are moving away from mass market type tours and looking for self created travel experiences that they can define.”

The social nature of Touristlink gives travelers the ability to view the social profile of the provider and then begin communication directly. Travel providers profiles contain personal information such as; interests, areas of expertise, languages spoken, preferred types of clients, pictures from past trips and more.

Reviews and recommendations of providers are an important part of the Touristlink marketplace. Founder of the site David Urmann said “I got the motivation for developing the site when I went to Nepal and tried to line up a trek for Everest Base Camp and had to decide which provider to go with. We built Touristlink to give travelers some idea of who these local guides and tour companies are and to make it easy for travelers to get an idea of what kind of service they offer based on the experiences of other travelers.”

Touristlink lets you get to know firsthand the local behind the tour you are planning or the small hotel you want to stay. It’s a great resource whether you want to get off the beaten path or just want to plan your own trip. With over 5,000 local experts it is perhaps the largest social marketplace connecting travelers and locals.
