Travcoa incorporates latest trends in 2014 product line-up

Luxury travel leader sees rise in exotic destinations, custom uItineraries. With multi-generational travel on the rise, Travcoa has seen an 80 percent increase in Tailor-Made custom journeys since October 1, 2012.

EL SEGUNDO, CA – Travcoa has identified three significant trends in the luxury travel market which are having a positive impact on the business – bookings are up 25 percent since October 1, 2012 and are leading the 2014 product developments.

“Our 2014 product line-up is now available for booking,” stated Jerre Fuqua, President of Travcoa. “We’ve taken the latest trends and our guest preferences into consideration and are offering a collection of itineraries and travel options that reflect distinctive enhancements to our Escorted and Independent Journeys.”

Unique and Exotic Destinations
Asia is showing a 27 percent increase in bookings over the prior year. Popular Escorted Journey itineraries include Road to Mandalay featuring Myanmar & Thailand, Intriguing Indochina, which explores Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand, and Mystifying Bhutan. In 2014 the best-selling Intriguing Indochina itinerary will be enhanced with a luxury cruise down the Mekong River.

Europe is showing robust results with a 21 percent increase in bookings. Off-the-beaten path itineraries in 2014 will include Along the Dalmatian Coast, an in-depth look at Croatia, Montenegro, and Slovenia; Mystery, Legend and Tradition, an itinerary filled with an abundance of food, culture and history, and the capital cities and little-known villages of Romania and Bulgaria; and Legends of the Russian Czars, an exploration of “Mother Russia”. In 2014, Travcoa will introduce a new journey to Bosnia and Herzegovina with an itinerary that is bound to appeal to the intrepid traveler.

Finally, Africa has shown a 10 percent increase in bookings in the past five months. Journeys such as Essence of South Africa with an extension option into the Kalahari Desert; and Grand Safari: Kenya & Tanzania, which includes a descent into the 2,000 feet deep Ngorongoro Crater. New in 2014, Botswana’s Wild Kingdom will feature Victoria Falls and an option to extend into Botswana’s Kalahari Desert. In addition, a fascinating cultural safari to Ethiopia, the ‘Cradle of Civilization,’ will be introduced.

Custom Journeys
With multi-generational travel on the rise, Travcoa has seen an 80 percent increase in Tailor-Made custom journeys since October 1, 2012. Families of parents, grown children, and grandchildren are able to tailor an itinerary and destination highlights to the group’s exacting needs. The regions with the greatest increase in growth are South America (up 436 percent), the Middle East (up 207 percent) and Europe (up 119 percent).

Small Ship and River Cruising
In 2014, Travcoa will introduce two new river cruise/tour itineraries – Bucharest to Bavaria: A Danube Odyssey and The Blue Danube: The Majesty & Music of Central Europe. Travcoa’s ever-popular Intriguing Indochina itinerary will be enhanced with a luxury river cruise from Siem Reap, Cambodia to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
