Travcoa's triumphant return to Egypt

Once the company's most popular destination, president Jerre Fuqua will host a journey to Egypt this fall as Travcoa once again visits the Land of the Pharaohs.

EL SEGUNDO, CA – Following on the company’s 60-year history of pioneering spirit, Travcoa, the world leader in luxury travel, is pleased to announce that it will once again offer Escorted Journeys to Egypt. While the decision to send groups into a region that has recently undergone historic change can not be made lightly, Travcoa believes the time is right to return to this remarkable country.

“I recently spent 10 days in the Middle East to learn about the state of tourism in that dynamic part of the world. I wanted to see, firsthand, if the climate had improved for travelers, and whether Travcoa should again offer Escorted Journeys to Egypt,” explained Jerre Fuqua, President of Travcoa. “As a result of my visit, I’m excited to announce that this October I will host an intimate group of guests on my annual President’s Journey through the Land of the Pharaohs.”

A Return to Egypt – The Nile Revealed is a 12-day itinerary that features awe-inspiring sights and unforgettable cultural encounters. Curated from some of Fuqua’s favorite personal experiences, the journey affords guest the opportunity to have special access to the Sphinx and a private luncheon in full view of the pyramids; board the Sonesta St. George I, a luxurious river ship, for an unforgettable cruise up the Nile; visit temples and tombs that mark the beginnings of civilization; and learn about daily life in bustling modern day Egypt by joining locals for lunch. Justin Smith, Travcoa’s Africa & the Middle East Product Manager, and a private Egyptologist will also accompany the entire journey.
