The pending order, “Promoting COVID-19 Safety in Domestic and International Travel,” will instruct agencies to expand public health measures for U.S. travel and cross-border land and sea travel while encouraging compliance with CDC guidelines on public transportation.

ALEXANDRIA, VA –Travel Again applauds the new Biden-Harris Administration’s mandating of masks on planes, buses, trains and in airports. The travel industry is suffering a record economic setback the likes of which the industry has never seen due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. The pending order, “Promoting COVID-19 Safety in Domestic and International Travel,” will instruct agencies to expand public health measures for U.S. travel and cross-border land and sea travel while encouraging compliance with CDC guidelines on public transportation.

Travel Again’s co-founder, Mike McCormick said: “We applaud the new Biden-Harris Administration mandating masks on planes, buses, trains and in airports. This mandate will not only help stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus but will help to secure confidence for all those who are traveling, as well as pilots and flight attendants, train employees and mass transit.

As part of our recently released Global Travel Recovery Framework, we prioritized enforcing safe travel procedures for all travelers with mask-wearing as a strong safety component. The Global Travel Recovery Framework has been developed to provide clarity and offer recommendations to rebuild traveler confidence, restore the global travel industry, and as a result, drive needed economic growth in the aftermath of a devastating global pandemic.

We believe this is a good first step in getting the travel industry back on track. We look forward to working with the Biden-Harris Administration on additional steps to securing the travel ecosystem.”
