Travel expert reveals top things to consider when travelling this Christmas

Top things to consider when travelling this Christmas.

Angelica Harding, Director of International Development at esta-america.com, travel expert at  ETIAS has created a list of the four things you should consider when travelling to avoid anything going wrong this Christmas

Have the right documentation
When travelling, it’s important to make sure you have all the correct documentation ready before you jet off. Currently, many nationals enjoy visa-free travel to and within the European and Schengen areas. However, with the introduction of the ETIAS, these visa-free travellers will soon need to obtain ETIAS approval before embarking on any European travel check before traveling.

Covid Travel Rules
As there is a lot of information surrounding covid travel rules, this can be overwhelming when looking to travel. Make sure you research the covid guidelines of the country you are planning on traveling to when you book your tickets. Also, keep up to date with any news in the country you’re travelling to in case the rules change between the dates you book your tickets and the date of your flight. You may need to take a PCR test or find yourself not being able to travel at all.

Travel Insurance
Many travel insurance companies have adapted their policies to cover covid related problems. So if you, unfortunately, catch Covid before you travel, or while you are on holiday you can get a refund. It’s important to double-check your travel insurance policy to make sure it covers anything that may go wrong.

Weather
Even the most carefully planned holiday can be derailed quickly by the weather, especially at this time of year. When it gets closer to your holiday, check the weather forecast so you can plan for any extra time you may need for getting to the airport and any issues you may face with delays.
