Travel industry veteran Debbie Thomas joins corporate travel consultancy Nina & Pinta

Debbie Thomas to lead accredited training arm in North America.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – London-based managed travel consultancy and accredited training provider Nina & Pinta announced the addition of travel industry veteran Debbie Thomas, effective immediately.

Thomas will lead the accredited training program for Nina & Pinta in North America. She will be based out of the greater Washington, D.C. area. The announcement comes on the heels of the expansion of Nina & Pinta into North America with the addition of Toronto-based partner Garth Jopling.

Thomas will provide the following courses as a part of Nina & Pinta’s current offerings, including: Customer Service Excellence, A Supplier’s Guide to Travel Procurement, Working with Travel Procurement – Advanced, Working in a Multicultural Environment, Corporate Travel Essentials for Industry Newcomers, and Selling Business Travel to the Corporate Sector. New offerings that will be added by Thomas to those currently offered by Nina & Pinta include: Consultative Selling Skills, Effective Negotiation Skills, Developing an Effective Sales Plan, and Presentation Skills for Panels and Ad Hoc Presentations.

Thomas is a veteran of the travel industry with over 35 years of experience. She spent 32 years with United Airlines in various positions including Regional Sales Manager, District Sales Manager and Account Manager. She also was a part of the training team where she designed and implemented negotiation skills, presentation skills, and business plan skills for the sales team and leadership as well as coaching and counseling training for various departments within United.

Following her tenure at United, Debbie worked with the Washington, D.C. Chamber of Commerce as the Vice President of Sales. Shen then moved to the Airlie Center as the Director of Sales before spending almost six years with the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) as the Director of Global Business Development.
