Turquoise Holidays to open new High Street shop in London, SW11

Hitting the high street at a time when so many companies are abandoning it for call centres and out of town shopping malls is another sign of Turquoise's commitment to putting old-fashioned glamour back into holidays and international travel.

Worldwide luxury holiday specialist Turquoise Holidays is to open its first London shop in September after over ten years of trading. The privately- owned tour operator is bringing its eye-catching shade of blue to one of the most fashionable parts of South West London, the Northcote Road near Clapham Junction.

In typical Turquoise style, the shop’s interior and exterior will reflect its vision for creating holidays carved out of inspiration, innovation, passion and imagination.

Known for seeking out the most authentic and off beaten track experiences in destinations across the globe from New Zealand to the Caribbean, Turquoise has always bucked the trend – a characteristic that has been proven by the company’s steady growth during one of the tourism industry’s toughest trading times.

Hitting the high street at a time when so many companies are abandoning it for call centres and out of town shopping malls is another sign of Turquoise’s commitment to putting old-fashioned glamour back into holidays and international travel.

Having started business as an Australasian specialist, Turquoise has carved out a niche for creating five star honeymoons and family holidays with a difference. While Australia and New Zealand are still at the company’s roots, the South Pacific, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, the Caribbean and Hawaii are all top sellers for the holiday company that isn’t afraid to maintain its independence, try a different approach and stand out from the crowd.

James Bell, Turquoise’s marketing director says: “With a large part of our business oriented towards the luxury honeymoon and family holiday market, it is natural that people want to talk about their ideas, mull over the options, pour over images and books, and take time in planning what is likely to be a very considerable investment and often complex itinerary.  While our sales consultants are highly trained and personable, there is nothing to beat a face to face meeting, and besides which, booking a holiday should be fun, indeed a big part of the experience, and that’s exactly what the Turquoise Holidays Shop will offer.”

A visit to the Turquoise Holidays shop promises to be a social occasion, with a fridge full of champagne to help excited honeymooners celebrate their forthcoming plans, cookies for the kids, and plenty of room for families to park their buggies. While all walk-in visits customers will be welcomed, the team will also be taking appointments to ensure that clients have plenty of time to discuss their holiday plans at a time to suit them, and without feeling under pressure.

The opening of the shop coincides with the publication of Turquoise’s first dedicated family brochure. Turquoise has also recently launched its Honeymoon Guide App which is available from the App store on iTunes.
