Twickenham sees 8% rise in annual conference and event sales

The company has seen a rise in exhibition revenue to account for 20% of total sales, banqueting has remained steady at 22% and conferences and meetings still form the lion’s share of business at 58%.
Twickenham Experience Limited reveals an increase of 8% in year-on-year conference and event sales for the period July 2013 to June 2014.

The company has seen a rise in exhibition revenue to account for 20% of total sales, banqueting has remained steady at 22% and conferences and meetings still form the lion’s share of business at 58%. Much additional year on year revenue has come through up-sells, with team building being the most popular amongst corporate clients, leveraging Twickenham’s Haka and GPS treasure hunt packages to deliver more interactive conferences and events.

Christmas bookings for 2013 also contributed to the sales growth, with Twickenham recording a 40% increase in bookings for the festive season in October 2013. The stadium’s conference and event facilities have hosted over 700 events between July 2013 and June 2014 for a range of corporate clients.

Chris Morris, Managing Director of Twickenham Experience, comments: “We have recorded strong results in the last financial year and with the strengthening of the economy expect interest to continue to grow. With the Rugby World Cup around the corner in 2015, the excitement at the stadium is building and there has never been a better time for businesses to associate their events with the strong values of the RFU being teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.”

We are starting this new financial year in great shape. With a bigger team and a re-focused sales and marketing strategy, we are confident of a strong 2014/15 in conference and event sales.
