Two new green pearls in the Alps: Hotel Klosterhof and Hotel Weihrerhof

The wellness hotel Klosterhof – Alpine Hideaway & Spa is located in a solitary location on a sunny plateau in the Berchtesgadener Land. Τhe family-run Hotel Weihrerhof with 23 rooms, wellness area, indoor pool and a large lakeside garden is a feel-good place in the middle of nature.

Green Pearls welcomes two hotel partners at once on board of the communication platform for green travel, the Hotel Klosterhof in Bayerisch Gmain and the Hotel Weihrerhof in Wolfsgruben in South Tyrol.

Green pearl Klosterhof, Bavaria (Germany)
The wellness hotel Klosterhof – Alpine Hideaway & Spa is located in a solitary location on a sunny plateau in the Berchtesgadener Land. The four-star superior hotel with its 65 stylish rooms and suites was personally and individually furnished by the host family Färber. All rooms have a view of the forest or mountains and are air-conditioned – in combination with the large Artemacur Spa and the Health Center, a cozy retreat for an unforgettable wellness vacation in Bavaria.

The Klosterhof is a magical place with 500 years of history. Once part of an Augustinian monastery, the property was rebuilt according to ecological principles. Always in mind: a balanced union of tradition and modernity.

"It is the connection to nature that grounds us and gives us perspective," is how Henrike and Andreas Färber describe their motivation. Their daily actions pursue the goal of continuously making sustainability a central element of the mindset at the Klosterhof, in order to constantly improve the quality of life for the partners, their team and themselves, and to protect the environment.

For its sustainability concept, the Klosterhof recently became the first hotel in Germany to be awarded the "EU Ecolabel", a certification recognized throughout the EU.

Green pearl Hotel Weihrerhof, South Tyrol (Italy)
In an excellent location directly on the shores of Lake Wolfsgrubner, the family-run Hotel Weihrerhof with 23 rooms, wellness area, indoor pool and a large lakeside garden is a feel-good place in the middle of nature. Whether wellness, rowing, swimming or relaxing on the sunbathing lawns, the lake shapes the vacation days at the Weihrerhof. The latest guest highlights are the boathouse sauna made of local larch and pine wood and a new boat harbor with rowing and pedal boats.

For the operators Manuela and Klaus Pichler, respectful and careful treatment of the surrounding nature is an important element for sustainable tourism in South Tyrol. Therefore, they too would like to strengthen communication around their green initiatives.

At Weihrerhof, 60 percent of the energy is generated by their own photovoltaic system. The additionally purchased electricity also comes from renewable energy sources. When buying groceries, priority is given to products with the shortest transport route, and when it comes to cleaning, the hotel dispenses with chemicals as far as possible by using micro-dry steam. The spa area and guest bathrooms also focus on the environment: the hotel's own natural cosmetics line 'BergSea' is based on organic products from South Tyrol and the Wolfsgruben Lake water. For its sustainability, the hotel is one of the first establishments in GSTC-certified.

With the Weihrerhof, after the Apipura hotel rinner and the Adler Lodge Ritten, a third hotel in the Oberbozen/Ritten region is a Green Pearls partner
