The 2009 UNWTO Ulysses Awards will be held on 27 May. The awarding ceremony of the UNWTO Ulysses Prize for Academic Excellence in the Creation and Dissemination of Knowledge in Tourism will take place at the Madrid Stock Exchange/La Bolsa de Madrid, Plaza de la Lealtad, 1 at 7.00 p.m., and will be presided over by UNWTOSecretary-General a.i., Mr. Taleb Rifai (for security reasons, participants will be requested to confirm their assistance before 22 May).
Later on, the awards for Innovation in Tourism Governance, for Innovation in Tourism Enterprises and for Innovation in Non-Governmental Organizations will be given out during a Gala Dinner at the Casino de Madrid, Calle Alcala 15 at 9.30 p.m.
On this occasion, as in the previous years, the UNWTO Ulysses Awards are given to governments, enterprises and other institutions in recognition of the programmes they have successfully carried out in the field of Innovation/Knowledge Management in Tourism and Governance in Tourism.
