VANCOUVER / MELBOURNE – Uniglobe Travel International and Magellan Travel Group have entered into a partnership that will see Magellan expand its brand presence in global business travel markets.
Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, Magellan is an exclusive member-owned network of more 85 high performance, independent travel agencies.Uniglobe Travel International is a global travel franchise organization based in Vancouver, Canada, with locations in 65 countries and annual sales of more than $5 billion.
Membership in the Uniglobe Global Partner program is open to top-performing travel management companies in select markets. Partners gain access to the Uniglobe network, global branding, multi-national account partnering opportunities, technology platforms and global intelligence, while retaining their local independence. The umbrella agreement will allow qualifying Magellan agencies to become Uniglobe Global Partner branches.
“Magellan is uniquely suited to our Global Partner Program,” says Uniglobe president and chief operating officer Martin Charlwood. “Uniglobe is a franchise organization, yet we recognize that not all travel management companies need the full support of a franchise system. As well, in a competitive global market, our franchises need stronger partner representation and increased brand profile in such critically important business markets as Australia.”
“We are very excited to be participating in the Global Partner Program as it offers our corporate members a globally recognized brand and an international network without compromising their independence and identity” says Andrew Macfarlane, Magellan CEO. “Their program offers a range of tangible tools, from airfare and hotel programs to technology solutions, that enhance customer service and profitability for travel management companies”.
