Organizers of the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) are in the initial stages of planning the third installment of the lodging industry`s premier annual investment conference. Co-hosted by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and the Burba Hotel Network (BHN), the event will be held January 19-21, 2004, at The Century Plaza Hotel & Spa and the St. Regis Hotel & Spa in Los Angeles, California.

The two and a half day event, which is designed to address the unique needs of the hospitality-investment community, provides a meeting and networking place for hotel executives, investors, lenders, developers, and professional financial advisors. The ALIS conference features an extensive array of seminars, leading economy experts, and investors discussing important trends and identify new opportunities.

Last year`s event welcomed more than 1,500 lodging industry leaders and we anticipate a greater number of attendees in 2004. As ALIS makes its mark as one of the most successful as well as significant gatherings in the hotel community, it brings together the most extraordinary financial leaders under one roof to share their thoughts and opinions about current trends and future trends with attendees. In all it`s a win-win situation for everyone, said AH&LA President and CEO Joseph A. McInerney, CHA.

In addition, ALIS 2004 will honor various lodging industry luminaries and the outstanding transactions of the year; ALIS University, a classroom-style course offering hoteliers useful investment strategies and tactics to achieve the maximum financial profits on their lodging properties; and much more.

In just two short years, ALIS has become the leading industry investment event and is setting new standards for both quality and innovation. We are very proud of what has been achieved and it would not have been possible without the support of conference sponsors and the program steering committee. The fun is about to begin again as we prepare for the 2004 edition of ALIS, said BHN President and ALIS Conference Chair Jim Burba.

Proceeds from ALIS benefit the educational, research, and training missions of the American Hotel & Lodging Education Foundation, AH&LA`s not-for-profit affiliate.
